Miniature World

When in Victoria B.C. a perfect rainy day activity is checking out Miniature World. As their tagline implies it is “The Greatest Little Show on Earth”.

Miniature World is a walk through museum filled with exhibit after exhibit. Each one intricately designed to tell a story. I can’t even fathom the time it has taken people to create these creatively detailed worlds.

Many of the “miniature worlds” are interactive with buttons to push. Open a hood of a car, send the train traveling through mountains, over bridges, and through numerous towns over the ages, and the list goes on. There is even a button to press that plays a movie in a little theater. When you bend down to see the movie a bit closer you see yourself live which the kids thought was hilarious.

Check out a circus town complete with a night sequence allowing you to see the tent and fair all lit up in the dark. Compare doll houses from around the world. Tap into your imagination with fairy tales brought to life, my personal favorite section. An entire wing is even dedicated to the story of Sir Lancelot. Plus view roughly a million other things. I truly believe you could go to Miniature World and catch new things each and every time. Talk about the ultimate game of I Spy.

We spent about an hour exploring Miniature World. I bet if you weren’t hungry (we were all starving) you can spend a bit longer. Kids under 4 are free. Adults $18 and kiddos range between $8-$10. Summer hours are 9-9, Winter 9-5. I would absolutely go again in a heartbeat. This is a gem of a place, unlike any other! Everyone is bound to find an exhibit they just absolutely love.
