Activities for your family to enjoy in Victoria BC.

Butchart Gardens

Life moves pretty fast and every once in a while you need to stop and smell the roses. We suggest doing just that by adding Butchart Gardens in Victoria BC to your bucket list this year! This stop is going to be one of your favorite activities for your family to enjoy in Victoria BC.

The gardens are beautiful, relaxing, and truly breathtaking. Any age will enjoy strolling the property while smelling the flowers, taking pictures of the gorgeous blooms, spotting birds, riding the carousel, listening to a concert, and so much more! Read our full post here.

Royal BC Museum

If you are in Victoria on a rainy day, kids and adults of all ages will be entertained for several hours at the Royal BC Museum. We were also able to see an IMAX with our admission. Outside the theater is a snack stand with movie popcorn and other traditional theater food. Learn more about the museum and all it has to offer for a day visit.

Miniature World

When in Victoria B.C. a perfect pit stop is checking out Miniature World. As their tagline implies it is “The Greatest Little Show on Earth”.

Miniature World is a walk through museum filled with exhibit after exhibit. Each one intricately designed to tell a story. I can’t even fathom the time it has taken people to create these creatively detailed worlds. See some amazing displays from our visit.

Bug Zoo

The bug zoo was one of the first adventures of our day. It is probably best that we didn’t have a rigid itinerary as Claire could have spent the entire day at the Victoria Bug Zoo.

The area that houses the bugs is warm and humid to keep the insects happy and healthy. I would recommend buying a bottle of water or two from the gift shop before heading inside. Upon entering the exhibit area you are surrounded by tons of different aquariums full of bugs and insects of all varieties. The Victoria Bug Zoo has an ongoing tour that you can join or leave at any time or you can simply just explore on your own. Check out more on our full post.

Victoria Harbour Ferry

A fun adventure on the water provided by Victoria Harbour Ferry. Watch planes land and take off from the water while learning some fun and unique facts about Victoria Harbour. A guaranteed hit with both young and old.

The Victoria Harbour Ferry offers a couple of different tour options. We went on the Harbour Tour, about 45 minutes round trip. Simply check-in at their kiosk on the waterfront across the street from the Empress Hotel. We waited maybe 5 minutes for the next tour before we were all loaded up and ready to set sail. Read more…

Looking for a place to stay? The Hotel Grand Pacific is hands-down the best!

Located directly across the street from the Black Ball Ferry landing, the Hotel Grand Pacific is the perfect location for families traveling with kiddos or those who are traveling on foot.

As we approached the harbour and saw Hotel Grand Pacific seemingly rise up from the water we are thrilled with the shot in the dark reservation we made online. Check out more about our experience at this hotel here!

Happen to be coming from Port Angeles or Seattle area? There are amazing package deals way worth purchasing before travel.

We booked a package deal that included our hotel and ferry fee, which I highly recommend. We reserved the hotel and our ferry ride from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria B.C. on the Black Ball Ferry Line website. The site offers various packages with discount bundled pricing for hotels, tours, activities, and transportation. Well worth looking at the options if you enjoy saving time and money!
