Adventure TO-DO List in Victoria BC

Planning a fun filled day of family friendly adventures in Victoria BC? Well here you go, look no further! This is your perfect itinerary full of all the must sees!

This is a jam packed agenda and could probably be broken up into two days if needed. But you want adventure right? So here you go! Be sure you are wearing comfortable shoes and have snacks because there really is no time to sit and eat until later!

1- Start your morning in Butchart Gardens. We took a taxi so we had a straight shot not wasting precious time waiting on a city or tour bus schedule. Plus it was way more economical with 4 of us. You can easily spend the whole day here walking the gardens, but for this schedule lets plan 3 hours. Get a light lunch here. Butchart Gardens offers two restaurants as well as a coffee shop.

2-While you are away from the downtown area, make sure to stop at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens. Right down the road from Butchart Gardens a quick taxi ride will have you there in approximately 5 to 10 minutes. This is about a 45 minute to a one hour pitstop. While visiting the butterfly garden you may get lucky enough to have a butterfly or two land on you. You also will get to see tortoises, lizards, flamingos, ducks, and a parrot or two. If time is on your side and you are patient enough, you may just get to see a butterfly emerge from its chrysalis.

3-Now its time to head downtown where you have reserved a ride on the Victoria Carriage Tours. A horse drawn carriage will take you through downtown Victoria and to Beacon Hill Park. Ask to be dropped off @ Beacon Hill Park instead of returning to the downtown station. Take in the 5:10 p.m. goat stampede at the petting zoo, play on the two playground or water parks, walk around the 200 acre park and enjoy the woodland and shoreline trails, and see the 4th tallest totem pole in the world.

4-Freshen up for dinner if you want, or don’t! Hail a water taxi at Victoria Harbour Ferry and rest your tired feet while you cruise to Fisherman’s Wharf. Enjoy fresh seafood options at Red Fish Blue Fish, Barb’s Fish and Chips, or any of the other unique and delicious restaurants located at the wharf. Top if off with a yummy soft served ice cream.

By now you are exhausted!! Wind down by reflecting on the great day exploring Victoria and get a great nights sleep. If tomorrow is a rainy day be sure to check out our rainy day itinerary here.
